Six outlets. Three cities. One shared kit list. Mumbai-based café-bar chain SOCIAL has converted select floor areas inside six of its venues into ready-to-use creator spaces under a new initiative called SOCIAL STUDIO, according to Indian Television Dot Com. For hospitality operators, the structural shift is the point: the venue is no longer selling only seat-hours and beverage margin. It is selling environment, equipment, and adjacency to a creator community — three revenue lines stacked under one roof.

What's inside the rooms

Each first-phase location ships with the same baseline kit: professional microphones, tripods, studio lights, green screens, and shooting props. The venues are Chembur SOCIAL, Carter Road SOCIAL, Hauz Khas Village SOCIAL, Vasant Kunj SOCIAL, Indiranagar SOCIAL, and JP Nagar SOCIAL — covering Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. Bookable zones for shooting, recording, and collaboration form the core product. No pricing structure, booking mechanics, or session limits were disclosed in the source material.

The kit list is deliberately standardized across all six locations. That is an operational decision, not an aesthetic one: uniform equipment means one training protocol, one maintenance cycle, one replacement schedule. For a multi-site rollout, standardization is the only path to predictable cost-per-session.

Phase two and the demand map

SOCIAL has named six phase-two cities: Pune, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Dehradun. The list is a geographic map of India's Tier 1 and emerging Tier 2 creator markets. Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality CGO Divya Aggarwal positioned the launch as the next step in the brand's evolution, framing creativity as increasingly becoming a career rather than a side pursuit, building on the earlier SOCIAL Works program that opened café floor space to founders and independent professionals.

The institutional backdrop matters. The Indian Union Budget 2026-27 includes plans for AVGC Content Creator Labs across 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges, per the same source. Public-sector capital is entering the same vertical that SOCIAL now serves with private infrastructure. Demand for rentable creator environments is being seeded from two directions at once.

SOCIAL's own cultural report, "Voices of the Hood," found that 54 percent of respondents named Instagram as the app they used most frequently. That single data point is the most relevant signal for any hospitality brand reading this: the guest walking into your lobby is already the operator who may need a shoot-ready corner tomorrow.

What to measure

  • Booking occupancy rate versus baseline café seat occupancy. If creator sessions cannibalize peak-hour revenue, the model breaks.
  • Session length and repeat-creator frequency. One-time bookings are novelty. Repeat bookings are the actual product.
  • Revenue per square foot for creator zones versus the same square footage under standard café operations.
  • Whether phase-two cities match the Mumbai–Delhi–Bengaluru core. If Tier 2 conversion holds, the model scales. If it doesn't, creator density still concentrates in the metros.

The case is clean: a hospitality venue repurposed, monetizing adjacent creator behavior. The open variable is unit economics. No public data on that yet.
