Can AI Marketing Platforms Like Munch Studio Truly Replace Your Hotel’s Social Media Team?
A new AI marketing platform called Munch Studio is making the rounds, with The Globe and Mail reporting that more than 20,000 businesses have already signed on since its 2025 launch.

Munch Studio Joins the "AI Will Run Your Socials" Race — But Should Your Hotel Actually Buy In?
The pitch is simple: upload your website, product shots, and even random meeting recordings, and the platform spits out a full social media strategy, posts, captions, and short-form videos. Built for small businesses and agencies juggling multiple brands, it positions itself as the replacement for your freelancer, your agency retainer, and frankly, half your marketing stack.
What It Actually Does
Munch Studio, founded by Oren Kandel, isn't pretending to be a scheduler with an AI button bolted on. According to the company, it handles the entire workflow — from strategy development through publishing. You feed it existing business assets, it generates the content, you approve before anything goes live. Their spokesperson told The Globe and Mail the goal is making "professional marketing accessible to every small business" so owners can "compete online without needing a full-time marketing department."
Sounds clean on paper. For a boutique hotel chain pumping out the same room tours and amenity shots every week, the volume game might genuinely help.
Where Hospitality Needs to Push Back
Here is the thing the pitch conveniently skips: your property's visual identity is not interchangeable stock content. The difference between a booking and a scroll-past is spatial storytelling — the texture of the lobby at golden hour, the way light hits the bathroom tile, the negative space in your suite photography. AI can repurpose what you already have. It cannot shoot your property. It cannot style your breakfast spread. It cannot direct a video that makes someone feel the linen thread count.
Hotels treating this as a shortcut to skipping their quarterly content shoot are going to end up with a feed full of derivative, on-brand-looking nothing. Algorithmically optimized. Aesthetically hollow.
The Real Play
Use the tool — or one like it — to handle the 80% of social output that is administrative: repurposing existing shoots into Reels, batching captions, maintaining posting cadence between major content drops. Do not let it replace the actual visual production that gives your property a reason to be booked in the first place. Munch Studio acknowledges that human oversight remains important for brand voice. That oversight should include a sharp eye for when automation is sanding down the very texture that made guests choose you.
